In the heart of the Esk Valley, Roslin Glen Country Park is a beautiful place to explore. This 270-hectare gorge woodland is one of Scotland’s most biodiverse havens, situated around 8 miles south of Edinburgh. Enjoy sweeping grasslands, wildflower meadows, oak–birch woodlands and carpets of bluebells. Look out for a wide variety of animals that live in the glen, from buzzards to butterflies. Discover the history of the glen by seeking out the ruins of Rosslyn Castle and the Gunpowder Mills. Plus, visit the famous Rosslyn Chapel on the edge of the glen.

Roslin Glen Country Park offers the perfect day out for peaceful riverside walks, a glimpse of rare woodland life and a journey into Scotland’s past. It’s easy to get to Roslin from Edinburgh. There is a regular bus service from Princes Street, which takes about an hour. Alternatively, you can get there in around 30 minutes by car, and there is free parking at the glen.
