Dalmeny House is a Scottish mansion in South Queensferry, to the west of Edinburgh. The private house opens to the public for just a couple of months each summer. During the summer opening, you can take a guided tour of the building to discover its treasures and stories. This grand house was built in 1817 for Archibald Primrose, the 4th Earl of Rosebery. It is still home to the Primrose family today.
It has a striking Tudor Gothic exterior design, while the elegant interiors are generally Georgian Regency in style. There are lots of interesting artworks, fine furniture and curious objects on display. The extensive grounds offer great views across the Firth of Forth. There is also a popular local walk from South Queensferry to Cramond, open year-round, called The Shore Walk, which runs past the house and grounds.
