Saughton Park and Gardens

Saughton Park is a large park near Gorgie in Edinburgh. It opened to the public in 1910 and became a popular recreational space in the west of the city. Spread over 34 acres, it incorporates playing fields, gardens and orchards, children’s play area and skate park, outdoor gym, walking and cycle paths, floral displays and glasshouses.
The Water Of Leith flows alongside the park and brings with it plenty of wildlife. Look out for otters, kingfishers and heron on the riverside. In addition, the beautiful gardens, including a walled garden, physic garden and community orchards, are home to a variety of butterflies, insects and birds.
