Edinburgh Zoo is the largest wildlife attraction in Scotland and a leading centre for conservation, education and research. It’s home to over a thousand rare and endangered animals and offers a busy programme of daily activities. A great day out for all the family. Situated in the Corstorphine area to the west of the city centre, you can get there easily by regular buses from Princes Street.

The zoo has been open since 1913. It is owned and run by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland and it is the only zoo in the UK with a Royal Charter. You’ll find penguins, monkeys, apes, rhinos, zebra, koalas, wallabies, lemurs, wildcats, lions, tigers, birds, fish and reptiles. Along with its animal attractions, Edinburgh Zoo offers keeper experiences, various workshops and other events.
