I met up with a few friends recently at Tapame Tapas Bar on Teviot Place. It was a busy Saturday night and there were five of us. We hadn’t made a booking, but we were lucky and they squeezed us in! The restaurant had a warm, lively atmosphere and the staff were really welcoming. Even though it was very busy, we were served quickly.
The menu looked so good, I could have ordered one of everything! Between the five of us we went for – Mixed leaf salad with serrano ham, almonds, olives orange and peppers, slow cooked beef with onions and red wine sauce, chorizo cooked in cider, slow-roasted pork with pitta bread and dip, roasted vegetables, garlic and chilli prawns, two types of chips and a bread basket. Everything was delicious and we finished every last bit.
I was quite full after all that, but decided to share a dessert with a friend because we couldn’t resist! We chose Churos, which I had never tried before. A light and crispy fried dough served with chocolate dipping sauce. Very yummy indeed. I must also mention the lovely Sangria I had to drink – It was good stuff.
The food and drinks came to just under £20 per person, which we felt was good value. We had a brilliant time and I hope to return to try some more from the menu.
