I’ve taken my kids to Scrambles Soft Play at Edinburgh International Climbing Arena quite a few times over the last few years. The room is split into three sections – 0-2 years, 2-5 years and 5+ years. At 4 and 2, they seem the perfect age for it now. They can play in the bit for 2-5 year olds together. And they manage to get around it without any help from me. Which means I can get some tea and cake and relax for an hour while they have a ball.

This week the three of us went along with my friend and her two children, who are also 4 and 2. The kids were so excited and couldn’t wait to get in. As we went mid-week it wasn’t too busy and we got a table close to the play area. What I really like about this soft play centre is that it is big enough for the kids to enjoy, but small enough that you can keep track of where they are.

There is a cafe, which serves drinks and snacks and it has a good selection for all ages. I got a tea and a very large piece of tiffin, which was yummy.

My kids run around like crazy and always end up sweaty and red-faced. But they absolutely love it! There is a water cooler, which is free to use and great for cooling them down after an hour of madness.

A 60 minute session at Scrambles Soft Play cost £9 for my 2 kids (adults enter for free), plus I spent about £5 in the cafe. I found this very good value for money compared to other centres we have been to. The kids had fun and my friend and I got a chance to chat and eat cake. Win win!
