Mia Italian Kitchen is a family-run Italian restaurant on Dalry Road in Edinburgh’s West End. I went there with my husband for dinner last Wednesday. We managed to get a table without booking, but it was still pretty busy for a week night.
It’s a lovely restaurant with a cosy, friendly atmosphere. The decor is warm and welcoming, with exposed brickwork, quirky little signs and chalkboards on the walls. I loved the menus, which were presented inside record covers. And there’s an open kitchen in the middle, so you can see the chefs preparing your food.
My husband and I both chose pizzas. I had one topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, parma ham, chicken and mushroom. My husband went for tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, parma ham, chicken, pepperoni sausage, chilli and olives. And we shared a rocket salad with parmesan shavings on top. It was all lovely. The pizzas had a nice thin and crispy base with plenty of topping, and the salad was simple but tasty. Afterwards, my husband had a coffee and I had the Tiramasu dessert, which was absolutely delicious. Very creamy and rich!
We really enjoyed our meal at Mia Italian Kitchen. Great food and service with a laid-back, cosy atmosphere. Dinner for two, plus beer and wine came to about £55 in total, which we thought was very reasonable.
