The Kinleith Mill in Juniper Green is a lovely pub and restaurant, to the south west of Edinburgh. I went there for lunch this weekend with my husband and two kids, to celebrate my daughter’s 6th birthday.
The pub was taken over by new management and refurbished about two years ago, and we’ve been in a few times since then. The interior is light, airy and modern now, and the staff are always really friendly and welcoming.
We arrived just as it opened at 12.30 and ordered from the lunch menu. It was quiet, so we were served straight away and the food didn’t take long to come out.
I went for seabass, which came with a creamy garlic sauce, sauteed potatoes, spinach and cherry tomatoes. It was absolutely delicious. One of the nicest meals I’ve had in a long time! I would say restaurant quality, rather than pub grub. Honestly, it was sooo good!
The kids meals were great too. They chose the macaroni cheese and chicken nuggets. Both meals came with two sides and an ice-cream sundae for dessert. So we had two very happy children!
The lady who served us was lovely too. Both my kids were excitiedly chatting away to her and she was really good with them.
The bill came to £50 for the four of us, including drinks. For the quality of the food and the excellent service, I think this was good value. I would definitley recommend a visit … and the seabass!
