Yesterday was the Hard Rock Cafe’s 44th birthday. So they were celebrating by rewinding back to 1971, the year the business was founded. Staff dressed up in 70s costume and sold their ‘Legendary Burgers’ for just 71p. I love the burgers at the Hard Rock Cafe. And as the prices are usually around £14 per meal, this was too good an opportunity to miss!
I arrived at lunch time with my husband and two young children. Despite the fact they were very busy, they seated us quickly at the front of the restaurant. There was plenty of space for the baby’s buggy here. They gave us the regular food and drink menu and also the special birthday menu with a good selection of burgers on offer. My daughter received an activity pack, which kept her happy as we made our choices.
To drink my husband had a beer and I ordered a Mango Berry Cooler, which is a non-alcoholic fresh fruit cocktail containing mango, strawberries, pineapple, orange, sweet and sour, sprite and soda. It was delicious!
For food my husband and I ordered the Hickory Barbecue Bacon Cheeseburger basted with hickory barbecue sauce and topped with caramelised onion, cheddar cheese, smoked bacon, lettuce and tomato. My daughter had a plain burger. All came with chips. We also got a side of onion rings. Everything was very tasty and absolutely amazing value at 71p per meal! They were very filling and we had no room for desserts, even though they sounded lovely.
The staff are always very friendly and outgoing at the Hard Rock Cafe and this was no exception. There was a fun atmosphere with everyone in costume and the usual great music to listen to and rock and roll memorabilia to look at.
Our three meals plus drinks came to just £15 and we had a great time. We have been to the Hard Rock Cafe many times before and will certainly be back .. and I’ll be interested to see what they do for next year’s birthday!
