It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas now we’re into November. The evenings are getting darker, the weather is getting colder and many of us are starting to make festive plans. Now’s the time to book your Christmas party, if you haven’t already! I’m so excited about Christmas this year, so when Frankie & Benny’s got in touch to ask if I would like to sample their new Festive Menu, I was more than happy to oblige!

I went along on Saturday with friends and family to the restaurant in the Omni Centre. There were 7 of us in total – 4 adults, 2 children and a baby. After a short wait in the bar area, we were seated at the bottom of the restaurant on one of the larger tables. We were welcomed with Blueberry Bellinis for the adults and non-alcoholic versions for the kids. Yummy!

I really liked the look of the menu. You could get a traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, but there were lots of other dishes on offer too. Such as burgers, pasta, pizza, salad – something for everyone. There was a choice of 6 starters, 8 main courses and 3 desserts, which I thought was quite good for a set menu. The kids ordered from the regular children’s menu, which also had a good selection.

Just as our starters arrived, we had a bit of a moment with my little girl, who took a dislike to one of the statues on the wall. She was sitting under the table in tears and refusing to come out. I was panicking, thinking I was going to have to take her away before we had even eaten. But luckily, we had a very helpful waiter who removed the statue without me even asking and hid it round the corner. He absolutely saved the day!

I had Cheese and Bacon Skins for my starter, Rigatoni Meatballs Italiano for main course and Chocolate Yule Log for dessert. I found the meatballs slightly hotter than expected. It did say that they contained chili on the menu though, so I should have known. It was still very tasty and everyone enjoyed their food, especially the chocolate log with mint ice cream.

We had a lovely lunch at Frankie & Benny’s. The service was excellent and it was a brilliant place to take the children. The festive menu starts from £16.95 per person and you can book online now.
