The original Meadowbank Stadium was built in 1970, when Edinburgh hosted the Commonwealth Games, and it was used as multi-purpose sports arena until 2017. After extensive refurbishment, it re-opened in 2022 as Meadowbank Sports Centre. The new centre has a reduced capacity of 500, focusing instead on its state-of-the-art sports facilities. Offering various resources, activities and classes for members of the public. It is part of the Edinburgh Leisure group.
This community sports centre boasts a wide range of facilities, including dance and trampolining hall, fitness studios, cycle studio, combat studio, gym, outdoor and indoor athletics tracks, jumping and throwing space, squash courts, 3G pitches and more. There is also a café on site for refreshments.
