Ghost Bus

Meeting point: Outside the Central Library, George IV Bridge, Edinburgh, EH1 1EG

Climb onboard the Ghost Bus for a spooky guided tour around the darker side of Edinburgh. Described as a ‘comedy horror show’, this tour is very theatrical. It’s a light-hearted way to hear the tales of a haunted city. The creepy conductor will show you where crimes, tortures and executions took place, and tell stories of witches, thieves and murderers. The classic 1960s Routemaster was once a funeral bus. So, be prepared for a few ghostly surprises along the way.

The tour lasts for around 75 minutes, and passes by city attractions such as Edinburgh Castle, Greyfriars Bobby and Kirk, St Giles’ Cathedral, the Palace of Holyroodhouse and the Scott Monument. There are no seating allocations, so arrive at least 15 minutes early for the best choice of seats. The departure point for tours is outside the Heritage of Scotland gift shop on the Royal Mile.
